Brent McCorkle has loved movies since he was a child. After seeing Star Wars over forty times, he and his brother stopped counting. Although Brent has always loved films, his earlier pursuits involved music, acting, and even medical science. It wasn’t until his late twenties that he decided to return to college to study film. Since that time, Brent has produced and directed numerous award-winning shorts. Most recently, two of his short films catapulted him to the top of a worldwide search for talented directors who could not only direct, but also write, shoot, and edit. Out of 12,000 applicants, Brent had the honor of being included in the top 50 Semi-Finalists for Mark Burnett and Steven Speilberg's 'On The Lot'.

On set, Brent’s collaborative spirit creates an environment where everyone is encouraged to participate in the creative process. “I believe it takes a bunch of great people to make a great film, and I believe that great films can make the world a better place,” Brent says. It is this conviction that motivates him to continue learning and growing as a filmmaker, never satisfied with where he is creatively.

Currently, Brent is working on several screenplays and is preparing to direct his first feature film. When Brent is not working, he enjoys playing “zombie” and watching movies with his kids. Brent lives in Dallas, Texas with his wife and their five children.
